Nitin Wali, Senior Director, ICANN South Asia, an internet warrior, who grew up in Haryana, India, recently came to Dhaka to attend the three-day Youth IGF. In an interview at Dhaka, he praised the tech-savvy youth of Bangladesh with much pride. He said, the power of youth should complement the digital world through inclusion.

While chatting with DigiBangla Executive Secretary Imdadul Haque, he shared some new information. The message he conveyed was of possibility and optimism.

First of all, he was asked about the experience of visiting Bangladesh. In reply, Nitin mentioned Bangladesh as the most promising and important country in South Asia. He said, Internet infrastructure and logistics have progressed substantially in the last seven years.

He said about Internet and public-private partnership in the career of youth, Internet should be brought to the marginal level. Because the Internet plays a role in the decentralization of power. So young people should be taught future technology. Now new job fields like social media manager are increasing. They need to work on skill development in these areas. Everyone should come forward together. Public-private joint partnership will play an important role in this regard.

Although English language reigns in the internet world, Nitin Wali emphasized working with local language content, Bengali e-mails and so on.

He said, Internet is a power where there is no such thing as gender discrimination, rich and poor. He talked about hosting-domain too. He also gave a positive message about the interest in the Internet among the people of Bangladesh. Also talked about influencers, content creators, social engineering, cyber threads, scams and cyber hygiene. However, no matter how many technologies or bots come, creativity will remain strong in its own strength in the final journey, said the senior director of ICANN South Asia.
